About: BITTE KAI RAND was founded in 1981 by the eponymous designer who, fresh out of the Royal Danish Design Academy, acquired the most prolific Danish knitting workshop of the time, "Steen's hjemmestrikkerier", and quickly became Copenhagen’s equivalent to Sonia Rykiel in Paris. All items were made to order and the designer got a firm grasp on what customers require from their clothes and how to fit clothes to real bodies rather than standard shapes. “I didn’t have a strategy or a goal. I never made a business plan. I just loved going to work every day,” remembers BITTE KAI RAND.
Fortunately, her husband, Michael Rand, had an eye for Bitte's potential as well as her talent. In 1983 he joined the company and together they created the long-lasting success that has brought the special Bitte design sensibility to style-savvy women all over the world - long before "Scandi Cool" was even a fashion term.
A few years in, the creative director learned how to scale her supply to demand, and soon became a household name in the most prestigious fashion outlets in Denmark as well as in department stores and design boutiques in Stockholm, Oslo, London, New York, and Antwerp.
Today the BITTE KAI RAND team can look back on four unpredictable decades. From the 80s sculptural shoulders and drop-crotch pants, the 90s designer denim and logo tees, into the 00s play with proportions to the 10s exploration of what is at the core of the brand’s aesthetics. The masculine versus the feminine, the architectural lines versus the organic forms, the artistic prints versus the monochrome surfaces.
The brand has been ahead of the game, featuring real people in their advertising since the ’90s including a mother breastfeeding her child, an older lady with a gold tooth and a gorgeous street cast of shiny, happy people from all over the world.

A note regarding time in transit: for Priority Mail USPS estimates the number of days for delivery (1, 2 or 3) based on location. These are not guaranteed delivery dates, only an estimate of time in transit from when your package is received by the post office. Express shipments do come with a guaranteed delivery date. USPS is now requiring signatures for package deliveries, however, due to the majority of customers requesting packages to be left without signature, we do not check off the signature required box allowing the postal worker to leave the package at his own discretion. Please indicate in the comments section of your order if you'd like a signature required for your package.

Please note, providing incorrect or incomplete shipping information (ie. missing apartment numbers or incorrect zip codes) will result in a shipping correction fee when the carrier charges us for a correction or if the shipment is returned back to us for domestic shipment.
Any order being shipped to a destination outside of the United States may be subject to incremental import duties and taxes. You are considered the importer of record and must comply with all applicable laws and regulations. Charges for duties, taxes and the carrier's service and collection fees are in addition to your shipping charge and must be borne by you. All prices on our site are shown in U.S. dollars (USD). The price is exclusive of any import duties, taxes and shipping charges. EU CUSTOMERS: Starting July 1, 2021 you will be responsible for paying VAT taxes upon receipt of your order; we do not charge VAT taxes up front and our prices do not include VAT. Pricing/Coupons/Price Adjustments Only one coupon/code may be applied per order. Multiple promotions/codes cannot be applied. We will gladly process a price adjustment on items purchased at full price within 7 days of the date on your receipt. Items purchased on sale will not be eligible for additional adjustments. In the event of a pricing error, we reserve the right to cancel any orders relating to such pricing error(s). Please note, for minimum purchase promotions, returns for refund will be pro-rated to discount level for the post-return purchase price. If purchase after return does not meet purchase minimum, and kept items will be charged at full-price. Returns for store credit will allow any kept items to retain their discount regardless of purchase total. Any minimum purchase required is for merchandise before taxes or shipping.
Return/Exchange Policy To return or exchange an item simply include the packing list indicating the items for return or include a note explaining your return. We now offer SELF-SERVICE RETURNS using the customer portal. We can give you the proper return address or send a USPS return lablel when you request the RMA. All returns must be received within 14 days from delivery date to be eligible for return. Any items returned 15-30 days after being received will be issued a store credit, valid at kiitoslife.com only.
Return Labels To simplify returns we are happy to issue return labels and deduct from refund. Print and attach to package and leave for USPS letter carrier or drop off at post office.
KIITOSlife reserves the right to refuse refunds on merchandise that is worn or used. All items must be in original packaging and have tags attached. All merchandise ordered via kiitoslife.com may be returned for a full-refund (less shipping) or exchange, including sale merchandise within the above mentioned time-frame (with the exception of items noted as FINAL SALE, which are not eligible for return or exchange and fabric which is final sale.) We do NOT accept returns from other Marimekko retailers or websites.
All fabric orders are final sale. No returns or exchanges will be accepted except in the case of defect or error.
Customer is responsible for all shipping charges associated with a return/exchange. No refunds will be made on shipping or duty fee charges.
For the holiday season we extend our return/exchange period. Purchases made from the day after Thanksgiving through Christmas Eve may be returned for refund, store credit or exchanged through January 15, 2024. Christmas items are excluded from the extended returned period and may not be returned after Christmas.
We strive to respond to all requests within 24 hours.
Please be aware that we do not carry large volumes of stock; in many cases we may carry only one or two pieces of a specific size. In the case that the item you have ordered has sold out or is on back-order we will contact you within 24 hours via phone or email and give you an estimated delivery date.
