Description: The unlined Maddy coat in the Juhla Unikko pattern is made of lightly water-repellent, bonded cotton. The coat has a fixed drawstring hood with a lightly padded, topstitched brim. There is a two-way metal zipper, a snap button closure, and large welt pockets in the front. The hemline features long side slits with snap button closures. The sleeve ends can be adjusted with snap buttons. The Maddy coat can be worn with the separate Salny and Sanny quilted coats, so that when they are attached, the outer pockets lead into the inner coat pockets. The straight coat has a relaxed fit. Marimekko’s famous poppy pattern Unikko was born in 1964 in a time when the design house’s collections featured mostly abstract prints. Designer Maija Isola wanted to create something interesting from this organic theme and designed an entire range of floral prints. Today, the iconic flower represents creativity.
